Our professional MSF RiderCoaches guide you step-by-step through 14 riding exercises designed to build real skill, safety, and confidence.

1

Motorcycle Familiarization

Identify controls, major parts, elements of good riding posture, and mounting/dismounting procedures. Review T-CLOCS pre-ride inspection.

2

Using the Friction Zone

Become highly skilled in using the clutch friction zone for smooth throttle control and power delivery.

3

Starting & Stopping Drill

Coordinate the friction zone, throttle, and brakes to start out and stop with precision and complete control.

4

Shifting & Stopping

Master smooth shifting through gears and practice precise stopping maneuvers at standard speeds.

5

Basic Skill Practice

Refine low-speed maneuvering skills, throttle control, and brake manipulation for corners.

6

Pressing to Initiate & Adjust Lean

Experience the effects of handgrip pressure and handlebar counter-steering to initiate, maintain, and adjust lean in curves.

7

Quick Stops & Tight Turns

Develop a feel for progressive braking pressure to stop quickly without skidding, and practice sharp tight turns from a stop.

8

Stopping Distance Demo

Observe total stopping distance reaction/braking demonstrations to relate speed to safe highway intersection strategies.

9

Limited-Space Maneuvers

Refine low-speed maneuvering skills to allow sharp turns in limited spaces using the counterweighting technique.

10

Stopping in a Curve

Learn how to maintain perfect control while applying progressive brake pressure inside a curve and manage traction.

11

Curve Judgment

Improve skills for negotiating multiple S-curves using the proven 'search-setup-smooth' cornering strategy.

12

Curves & Lane Changes

Practice high-speed curve line selections and safe lane-changing procedures while selecting safety margins.

13

Obstacles & Swerving

Learn exact obstacle-crossing front-wheel manipulation techniques, execute basic swerves, and refine slow weaves.

14

Skill Practice Capstone

A comprehensive exercise that combines all low-speed and high-speed maneuvers into a final riding practice run.
