Ride Safe on Two Wheels: MSF’s Free eBike Course & Florida Motorcycle Training

May 14, 2026 By Rafhat Farooque 5 min read

If you've been searching for motorcycle classes near me, a motorcycle endorsement class, or an MSF course near me in Florida, you're in the right place. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) just announced an exciting opportunity this May, and it serves as a perfect reminder of how much quality rider training can change your confidence and safety on the road.

State Motorcycle Training is proud to offer MSF and FRTP-approved motorcycle endorsement classes across Florida — including motorcycle classes in Tampa, Riverview, Orlando, and St. Petersburg.

MSF and PeopleForBikes Are Offering a Free eBike Course This May

In celebration of May Bicycle Month, the Motorcycle Safety Foundation has partnered with PeopleForBikes — the nation's leading bicycle advocacy organization — to make their eBike eCourse completely free through the end of May. Normally $35.99, this 90-minute interactive course covers:

  • The different classes of eBikes and how they differ
  • Battery care and safe charging practices
  • Smart riding strategies for roads and shared paths
  • How to navigate traffic safely on two wheels

Designed for ages 12 and up, the MSF is encouraging families to complete it together. Every graduate receives a numbered certificate of completion plus a 30% discount on helmets from Troy Lee Designs.

Why MSF Training Matters for New Riders in Florida

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation has spent more than five decades crafting some of the most respected rider education programs in the country. Their curriculum is exactly what we build on at State Motorcycle Training — and this free eBike initiative is a clear window into the depth and quality of their approach.

If a 90-minute online safety course can make someone a more aware rider, imagine what a full 2-day hands-on motorcycle endorsement class can do for your confidence and your future on the road.

MSF & FRTP Approved — What That Means for You

State Motorcycle Training is certified by both the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) and the Florida Rider Training Program (FRTP) — the two leading approving bodies for motorcycle rider education in Florida. Students who pass our course can add a motorcycle endorsement to their Florida driver license without taking the Florida DMV riding skills test. Many insurance providers also offer a discount to graduates of an MSF-certified course.

What the MSF Basic RiderCourse Includes

The MSF Basic RiderCourse is designed for beginner riders ages 16 and up. Here's exactly what students get at State Motorcycle Training:

Step 1 — Online eCourse (~5 hours, completed at home)

Before arriving at the range, every student completes roughly 5 hours of MSF online training covering motorcycle controls, rider awareness, risk management, and basic riding principles. A Spanish-language option is available.

Step 2 — On-Motorcycle Range Training (10 hours over 2 days)

MSF-certified RiderCoaches guide students through 15 structured riding exercises (shifting, swerving, braking, limited-space maneuvers) that progressively build real-world confidence and control. The course concludes with a 25-question knowledge test and a hands-on riding skills evaluation. Pass both and receive your BRC waiver card immediately!
